Odd thoughts when young
Discussion
What was your odd take on the world when you were a small kid ?
I was convinced that everything from the 'olden days' was actually black and white. Because TV was black and white and the only old cars I saw were black, I actually thought that colour was introduced to this planet in the 50's.
I also thought that because we were warned never to take sweets from strangers, it was because they were going to be the 'hot ones' that you could get from joke shops and they'd burn your mouth.
The innocent mind eh ?

I remember being totally in Awe of the Bible stories of Christ. For years I was amazed that in the short period between his birthday at Christmas and his death at Easter he'd lived such a full life, what with all the water into wine, shepherding and wot not, and must have been some kind of quick-ageing super-human. It wasn't until I was about 7 that I finally realised that the Christmas and Easter involved didn't fall in the same year.
I used to think that if I didn't finish life on even steps, i.e. my right foot, I'd go to hell.
I spent precious hours of my childhood ensuring I always finished walking with my right lege, just in case.
Still tend to do it now, as I guess my little theory has enveloped itself in my subconsciousness!

I had read that in the future the sun would explode. I knew it would be millions of years but it still worried me!
I was a bit of a worrier.

Me too! I still fret about that now! I used to worry about having children, just in case they had children who would explode.
and yet I still don't recycle!

I did this too, apart from the hell bit. I just had to have things even.
This also went for things such as counting the white lines in the road when I was a passenger in the back of a car. I had to stop counting on an even amount and quickly shut my eyes or turn away.
What a parculiar child.
