Much as I dislike Mr Blair and cronies for their brand of pseudosocialism, how would removing the party of choice for 20-30% of the voters from the election produce a democratic result ?

What you really mean, of course, is "My party of choice won't win so let's nobble the opposition" isn't it ?

The difference is that what I posted was obviously tongue in cheek. The Daily Mail, frighteningly, believe everything they say, or at least want their readers to.

To me it is more of an issue of this being another example of people trying to corrupt the electoral process.

It doesn't concern me which party is involved, it's that this happened at all and brings into question the whole idea of postal voting.
