I need to get to the GLA Building (City Hall) for a function on Thursday and need to know how long it would take me to get there from Paddington Station. My preferred way would be in a cab as I despise tubes, any ideas on the journey time?

Also, while I'm here, what are my chances of hailing a black cab outside the City Hall at about 6.30pm (to get back to Paddington), would I have to wait long for one or will there be loads about?

As you can tell I don't do London very often..

What time are you arriving at Paddington? If it's before rush hour 15 mins tops but during the day it'll take around 35 mins as long as there's no serious traffic jams.

You won't have a problem hailing a cab to get back to the station at that time of the evening, just walk accross the bridge to the north bank and there'll be loads passing by.

I would say it's 6 miles or so, anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes, oooh, 18 quid to you guvner.

Tube would be one change, 20 minutes to London Bridge then 10 minutes walk, all in for 2 quid.

You won't have any problems flagging a cab at 6:30pm either

Taking 12.31 from Taunton to arrive at Paddington 14.20 - sounds like it should be reasonably stress free, thanks!
