Who was the first person in the history of the modern world to milk a cow. And at the time of this first event, what exactly did the guy think he was doing?
he probably thought 'hey today is officially the start of the modern world, however i'll just do what i did yesterday, in the ancient world - milk this cow'
seriously tho, women have these things called breasts, we all used to feed from them. cows have the same thing, it's no great leap

It's how pigeons differentiate between bits of 'food' and small bits of gravel, dust, lighter flints etc that baffles me.
Birds eat gravel anyway to help them digest their food. I suspect their selection has a lot to do with smell.
Seagulls must not have a sense of smell. They eat anything. Cigarette ends, windscreen wipers, the lot. They are also not scared to steal it out of your hand.
