Why are the general public sending hate mail to the Greater Manchester Police? I could understand the mob aiming their fury quite rightly at the out of touch inhuman little bastard that convicted her, but the police are at worst incompetent.

I am the first to criticise the BIBs when they deserve it but this is completely wrong. If anyone fancies putting the judge in the stocks I will be ther with my rotten tomatoes.

for those not in the know.

The BIB had to pursue the matter as a weapon had been discharged (yeah I know it's only an air rifle - still lethal if you're unlucky). It's the CPS that decides when to prosecute.

The general public are once again showing there collective stupidity if they're hate mailing the police.

Why am I not surprised.

Poor woman. Utterly contemptable decision to jail her.

She lives literally just around the corner from me. There is a bit of a problem with gangs of teenagers roaming around, windows broken bus shelters vandalised etc.

I'm not surprised it happened tbh, and she has my deep sympathies.

Ah but they are little misunderstood angels aren't they. Lets send them on a holiday paid for by the taxpayers. FFS. The woman should have been givena medal not a jail sentence.

She should have been given a medal if she had actually shot the bast*rds rather than fire the air rifle at the ground.

And why the hell has she been denied bail...?

Spotted in a newspaper the other day that a yob shot a lad with an air gun, but was not jailed.

How does that work, then....?

Well she's white and middle class and probably had a decent upbringing in owner-occupied housing from stable parents with no reports of drug problems or claims of child abuse or evidence of juvenile delinquency caused by being bullied at school, and we all know the entry in sentencing guidelines opposite that description involves throwing the book at you as you're worse than a child murderer just for having such a background.

If you drive a car as well you can forget parole and will probably receive electroconvulsive therapy for your psychiatric disturbance at not wanting to be conveyed by right-on pinko green collective transport, comrade. Free Transport 2000 subscription on release. Shocking.

because people feel that the this Police force is out of touch. no one listens to reason or common sense so the frustrations boil over to other forms of protest.

It is sadly true that the average decent, hardworking, taxpaying, conviction free middle class person has apparently become the enemy of the state.

Quite an incredible state of affairs.

Quite simply this woman should NOT have been pointing/ aiming an air weapon at anybody, no matter how much she was provoked.........

She may think twice after a short spell in the slammer......

(incidentally, I have been selling air guns,( amongst other things) for a living for the past thirty odd years..........

People have got away with murder in the past, due to the circumstances (provocation, torment, etc). It just takes the piss that somebody can be jailed for protecting her home. So what if its an air-rifle? Would it make a difference if it was a plank of wood with rusty nails? Just as dangerous.

How does a middle-aged woman being jailed benefit our society? Thats what courts are for, isn't it?

All very well and good, but I think the point is 'when compared to all the scum who commit crimes every day who don't see the inside of a jail'

First thing it is the only language these scum understand,

Secondly a scumbag deliberatly shot a 5 year old boy in the head with an air rifle and received a community sentence.

Justice-I don't think so.

Agree that she should not have fired an airgun, even if at the ground.

But there are times when frustration boils over and, legally, there is virtually f**k all that you can do to to get something done about these scum types.

The tragic thing here is that the scrotes have again won and a woman, who was at the apparent end of her tether, has been locked up.

Justice - I think not!
