What to do in Docklands

Our two daughters are going wrestling next Friday (not with each other , to watch ) My wife and I will go up there just to make sure they get back safe. Then we have the evening to ourselves.

As it will be close to our wedding anniversary () , can anyone recommend a nice eatery/drinkery somewhere near the arena ?

I always used to like the "Prospect of Whitby" pub when I went down to that area. Nice pub with a small deck overlooking the Thames. Pleanty of character & decent beer, but never eaten there.

It's been a while since I was there, so someone will probably post to say it's been turned into a bloody Whetherspoon's by now

Bear in mind nowhere is really that far away from Docklands, so if you [eastendersvoice] "Fancy going up west"[/eastendersvoice] then that's dooable as well.

It's got a couple of bad reviews but I thought it was superb. This person didn't:

There are lots of restaurants, the nicer ones being Nobu and Plateau (a Conran restaurant) as well as a nice Gaucho Grill on the river.

If you're looking for a posh (read expensive) restaurant then Plateau isn't bad - belting views.

There are loads of bars in Canary Wharf that you could choose from that serve food too.

Failing that you could steal an Escort and thrash the sh1t out of it on Asda carpark
