There used to be a flying instructor at Blackpool who
would habitually take his dog flying - he was a sole
operator, and the thing would try and escape from
the office and jump at the propellor if he left
it behind - apparently he would even have the
thing floating around the cabin during
spinning exercises (this was 20-odd years ago,
back when spinning was part of the syllabus).
Barking mad, of course.

Gorgeous Yak, by the way.
We seem to have been having a bit of bad luck
with the old Yak recently - no sooner had we got
it back with the new prop & engine after the PAPI
incident than it spat a plug on takeoff 2 weeks
ago, trashing the HT leads. Got that fixed, and
then on Monday the CSU unit ran away and then seized
with one of our new members was doing some conversion
training. Two blue-flashing-light arrivals in two
weeks, not good. Still, I bought that Pitts share
last week, planning on getting some significant S-2 time in shortly.
All worth the grief tho, I'm sure! I've just had to fight tooth and nail to get an hour in an aerobat at 8am tomorrow morning. Guess I need that fix more than I need a Friday night beer! (and thats really saying something!) BTW - the AAIB report on the chap in the Yak from Southend that got a mobile phone jammed in the elevator controls in now on the web... scary stuff.
Yep - fingers x'ed for the wx. I've been sat in an office in london looking at the Bembridge webcam and sighing wistfully. (was a lovely morning there - although it has to be said it doesnt look that nice there now!)
