I have thought about this and have to admit that only one smell gives any memories at all is plastic paddling pools.

I have no memories of these apart from the smell, it is not a great smell, but it is the only one that sticks in my mind.

(I don't think I have a good sense of smell).

Real Answer:- Castrol R, new books, ethyl acetate, the inside of pianos, the hymn books in my local church, the smell of the stuff given off by actinomyces after rain on a dry road (that "it's just rained" smell) THe inside of classic cars.

arghhhhhh there is a word for the smell of roads after rainfall... I cannot for the life of me remember it...

Ethyl acetate - agree, though it can be a bit much at times.

I like the smell of alpha picolene too (quite bad for you though) and sort of like the smell of COD.

I like the smell of 2 stroke exhaust fumes too.

and the smell of pine forests.

and the smell of snow.

and also the smell of new shoes.
