Just watched a show about Madonna and all the controversy that she’s faced in her career. What does everyone think of her?

Bit tired, and requires 10 grands worth of retouching to look good, not that I'm complaining.

She's OK when she wants to be. Frozen is an outstanding track, and there's something strangely appealing about La Isla Bonita - like a sort-of sophisticated take on Club Tropicana cheesiness, or something.

Immature. I mean, for a 40+ year old, she still can seem to have petulant, teenage attention-seeking and self image issues. I read one of her children's books (and put it back on the shelf, yes I know it's like shoplifting) anyway, you can really pick up on the issues she had growing up and see how they are still present. Especially the don't-hate-me-because-I'm-beautiful "English Roses" story. Seems a bit self centered.

Madonna's skills have never been musical. What she has excelled in is self promotion and she has successfully controlled and driven her own career for over two decades now. Fair play to the girl.
