You did me a big favour...I have been meaning to replace the crappy stereo you destroyed because you could not take it out, and i didn't like that jacket much anyway.
Sorry to hear that,
but look on the brightside, you will probably see a picture of it in an art gallery next week
As you can tell, I already am looking on the bright side
I had a much better car stereo lying around anyway and now I have installed it my car seems to go 20mph faster on the motorway
I am not too pissed cos the car was not locked and no damage was done to the vehicle itself.
I will probably be asking myself If i would have gone done over if it was locked though...who knows?

I don't lock mine, stereo window cost more to replace than just the stereo
If it rained on the leather, that would be very annoying
For the same reason, it is not worth reporting this kind of crime to my insurers...the rise in premiums would outweigh any benefit of telling them

I wonder what the legal implications would be of this:
If someone lived in an area where their car kept being broken into and the stereo was forever being nicked, what would happen (legally) if they coated the back of the stereo with, say, cyanide, so that whoever nicks it got poisoned?
Would the rightful owner be in trouble for coating his own property with poison?

If you have to ask...
Almost certainly, more the bloody pity. Bear in mind people have been prosecuted for trespassers being attacked by dogs on the property.
A bit of a shame really, although personally I think parking old cars, unlocked, with Claymore mines fitted behind the stereo should be not only legal, but a televised sport..

Yes, sorry. same goes for wiring up the chassis to 240v etc.

Only if you failed to attach the proper warning stickers.
I could get some biohazard stickers from work....... might take a bit of explaining to a BiB though!MilnerR said:

Half of these numbskulls can't read anyway, and the ones that can would think you're bluffing and would continue to nick it!
Best anti theft device is a cannister of smoke that fires when somebody tries to remove the car stereo. Cannister would have enough smoke for a good 20 minutes, by which time the fire service would have arrived.
Smoke would be so dense (and smelly) that remaining in the car would be impossible, and best of all it would dissapate completely leaving the car no worse off

What he needs is what we use for airsoft games..
One of these just cut a hole out behind the stereo hook it up so when they try to yank it out, "click" they would have no choice other than to leave the vehicle...
