Kicked off wing mirror - what are the options?

Scrote(s) kicked off the driver's side powered door mirror of my daughter's Rover 25 while parked up outside my house over the weekend. It's a colour coded unit and the body is OK, glass intact and wiring still attached. The metal threaded post has snapped. Is this a new unit and respray job or can the metal post be replaced?

Thanks for any suggestions - it seems it's all pay out the moment and any cost efficiencies would be helpful.

I'm only guessing as I have no idea how a Rover 25 wing mirror goes together but, I'd phone your local scrappy and see what he's got in, it's not a rare car so there should be some in somewhere local for breaking, and a complete unit you can strip down and rebuild shouldn't be anywhere near the Rover price, if the dealer can even get one now

I don't think there's any problem with Rover parts - they sold their parts business to Caterpillar a while back. It's in good hands - no need to stockpile!

Thanks Popov: replacement mirror on the way via the findapart service - that was really quick.

Now the next question: how do you get the broken unit off and replace the colour coded shell and refit? Do I need any special tools? If not I'll have a go myself.
