French/European TV IN UK

want to get a few French channels for the Miss's, from what I can see Sky only do the one TV5
So need to get another Box and Dish, have found one for £200 that gets the main 5 channels with no subscription.
Anyone know of any, use any pitfulls etc

You'll need a decent size dish (90cm - 1m in the South-East) to get a reasonable picture from France Telecom. This may give planning issues

I'm not sure how long they'll keep the analogue transmissions going for, now that its all available on digital satellite - for which you'll need a subscription

I have all the kit (90cm dish, LNB, PACE receiver, SECAM video recorder), don't use it any more - if you want it cheap, drop me a line - all you'll need is an installer, unless you can diy

ps: you'll also need a Secam-compatible TV, although this is more common than it used to be

I have french TV and would exchange it for anything coz it's cheap tripe. Endless chat shows - the cheapest form of TV that exists. I only turn the TV on to watch rugby or a DVD nowadays. I agree with a comment above - encourage the missus to watch UK TV instead - it may be crap but it's better than the french merde.

However, I will give them credit for is insisting that national sporting events are on national TV. They don't allow the sports to whore themselves out to satellite channels if the french team are playing.
