The Labia lot are going to win the election on the economy. All the opinion polls have them as the most trusted on this issue by a huge margin. Yet the policies that have given us the longest sustained period of economic growth were put in by Norman Lamont. It is he that completely changed the management of the economy to give it long term stability and growth. It is a pity he resigned over ERM because it wasn't his fault. It was John Major who took us in to that at the wrong rate. Kenneth Clarke continued Lamont's good work and paid tribute to him in budget speeches. When Labia got in they, famously, left the management of the economy largely unchanged and only went into tax and spend mode when Dobbo's mismanagement of health made the wheels fall off. The only major economnic management change Gordon the moron has made was to give up interest rate policy to economists. It could be argued that this policy was a failiure as it failed to prevent runaway house price inflation.
So, in conclusion, is Gordon the moron harvesting the crop that Norman Lamont sowed?

Norman Lamont was a tt who along with John Major, an even bigger tt, cost this country billions over the ERM egotrip fiasco.

Yes. That's a good point. I can forgive ol' Nige quite a bit because of Nigella....

She makes me think impure thoughts.

I thought Nigel Lawson was a bit boom and bust which is why he lost the job and why Lamont introduced proper management and planning.

I met Nigella once, before she shacked up with Saatchi and got fat. I was definately in there, had I not been married.

Looking at her husband, looks are not high on her list of criteria. My miniscule bank balance was not immediately apparent.

yes he did slip up a bit on macroeconmic management.

But he simplified the tax code and brought down tax rates dramatically.

Julian Clary.................

In 1993 he was the compére of the British Comedy Awards which was being broadcast live on television. A sexual joke involving Norman Lamont, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, received uproarious laughter from the celebrity audience. Although there were only 12 complaints from a viewing audience of 3 million, the next day's press was indignant and called for him to be banned from television.

As a result Julian Clary went on tour in Australia. He returned to Britain in 1995 and took up acting and compéreing again.

Lamont' s quite a nice bloke compared to Julian Clary - who's a one-trick pony basically.

And Lamont is a tt.

Trolling again Brucie?
