Six Sigma books

I've just begun six sigma green belt DMAIC training with GEAE, and i'm looking for a book to augment the training. Can anyone recommend any books? Amazon list a few inc 'six sigma for dummies' and 'the six sigma toolbox: a guide...' that both seem good, but if anyone has any further input it would be gratefully received.

). aah, yes. The latest in corporate cheerleading. I was 6-sigma green-belt trained. It's basically using statistics to analyze and streamline your processes so that failures are down to 6-sigma. "black belt" training is supposedly more intensive. Depending on the company where you are, it can be worthwhile and innovative, or it can be the latest in a string of cure-all fads and themes that a company will try on to motivate the working serfs. Did you get a t-shirt? Just kidding. Some people do it and go through the motions with bull-shite projects that don't solve anything, as a resume builder. This is unfortunate. Some people do it in good faith and actually get something done, though, so there's still hope.
As its GE i work for, it should be worth it in the longrun, i'm the youngest trainee yet at my workplace, so plenty more scope for growth. Need ti for management now as well. Just now though, it gives me a good excuse to be doing projects (that i'd rather be doing anyway) instead of real work.

six sigma was started by Motorola. search for motorola and six sigma and you might get some info off the net.
I have to do my green belt in the next few months.
TBH its just going to be the same as all the other crap Ive done for the last 15 years. 5s,TPM, etc
its all going to be common sense stuff that the management will just ignor anyway
not holding out much hope.

Having got my Green Belt (woooooo!) and been certified I can say that it really is a piece of cake, and you won't need any books.
For Engineers it's nothing more than fancy names for amalgamating what we have done for years. For production, it's the process of determining what the control limits are, and then working to them. Surprise, surprise, things improve. But you have called it something fancy so now it's double slaps on backs all round.
