Kings Hill in Kent
Discussion
I work in King's Hill, and some of my colleagues live there too (I'm in Tunbridge Wells)
The area's nice enough, but there's not really much to do especially in the evening. The Spitfire is a bit bland although I'm only talking from lunchtimes, never been there in the evenings. Most people go into nearby West Malling, about a 5 min car journey, for evening entertainment. There are quite a few lively pubs and good restaurants.
They have recently opened up a shopping centre, before that there was only an ASDA and the pub! It's not really a complete set of amenities though. Just a chemists, 3 restaurants and a coffee shop IIRC.
As far as the houses go, they're rather expensive for what you get. If you look around the surrounding areas, you might be surprised what more you could get for a similar price.
Sometimes it just reminds me of a posh Milton Keynes...

Houses look nice, but like all new estates are a bit crammed in, even the ones at the upper end of the scale. Not a lot of parking as I recall, especially if you have more than one car and envisage visitors needing to park nearby. Suprised they have not got any of Bliars cheap chav housing included in the builds. Maybe Kings Hill managed to avoid the requirement for housing for the great unwashed, having been planned for some years now.
thanks for the input.
night life isn't that important at the moment as i know that we are going to be skint for a few months after moving in and most of the time will be used for unpacking
The area just seemed too good to be true. Nice houses, quiet, no chavs or chav cars and everyone seemed to be happy.
just wanted to know if there were any problems with the area, but there doesn't seemed to be any.
