I really hope they do the book justice but I think they'll ruin it whatever happens...

I read another review over the weekend and they reckoned it fell between trying to make a good story orientated movie and remaining faithful to the book.

Problem with films is that you miss the nuances. And Douglas Adams books were full of witicisms and nuances.

Fingers crossed that they don't fook it up!

It's film of the month in Total Film too. They tend to get things spot on.

Really looking forward to this....

I can't wait either, got my tickets booked for opening night!

Adams always said that each incarnation of the Hitchhikers guide was to be a progression and not just a remake of the previous versions. Most of the new stuff in the movie is actually straight from Adams and his years of trying to get the movie made before his death, I'm really optimistic to be honest and I definitly think that most of the casting is spot-on.

Martin Freeman seems perfect as Arthur Dent, although I do remember reading at some point in the past Adams wanted Hugh Laurie as Dent in the movie. Both seem pretty well suited to the role IMO.

Marvin looks great too, and who else to voice a paranoid android but Alan Rickman!

Don't get your hopes up

"The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie is bad. Really bad. You just won't believe how vastly, staggeringly, jaw-droppingly bad it is. I mean, you might think that The Phantom Menace was a hopelessly misguided attempt to reinvent a much-loved franchise by people who, though well-intentioned, completely failed to understand what made the original popular"

Spoilers in the review (as if there can be spoilers for a book interpration)
