working with women
Discussion
sorry to offend 50% of people here but does anyone else find working with women an absolute nightmare?!? if you havent asked how are you every morning you get stroppiness all week and if you say anything negative at all u get shot. whereas a man would take criticsm swear at the bloke and then an hour later get on as normal u say anything to them they remember for months. its totally one sided as they can say anything they like to u but god forbid u retaliate??
anyone else find this or is it just me?

They do get more stoppy and sulky-but the biggest problem with working with women is that they always want the office 5 degrees too warm.
The biggest benefit of working with women comes if they are attractive.
lol i once had a email thinghy through that listed the first 5 things every woman said on entering a room and the first is "oooh its cold in here" !
Just you I'm afraid. Mixed offices are far, far preferable to all-male. That depends what industry you're in I suppose, but I've shared offices with blokes who have severe BO, the social skills of a housebrick and enough testosterone to fuel a Ferrari. Bring in the fairer sex and things improve dramatically.
Edited to add:
Well, OK, not just you then

Then again...

I used to work in a team of 4, me and three women. They were all really good fun but they were 'synchronised' if you know what I mean. At a certain time of each month I used to come in in the morning and they'd all be staring at me like I'd slaughtered their families. I knew I'd be in a for a great day
Why is it that when women are, ahem, feeling a bit sensitive
they never seem to get annoyed with each other, just the nearest man?
Other than that I seem to mainly work with blokes these days and I do miss the 'balance'.

It's not that difficult to train yourself to say "Good morning, how ar things".
The difficulty is the bloody office temperature tolerance difference. I generally share my office with a trainee (so that they can learn from me supposedly). They rotate every six months and the only problems with women are that they sneakily turn up the temperature dial when I'm out of the room and it is less simple to go for a drink with a young female trainee than a male one.

Sorry but I think that one is just you, or more specifically the women your working with.
One of the nice things about working in callcentre outsourcing has been the high proportion of women.
About 60 - 80% of my colleagues over the years have been women. I have less problems with them than men, they look better (on the whole), smell nicer and tend to be less abrasive. The people ive had problems with have tended to be men (and ex-girlfriends but we dont mention that...).
Or maybe Ive been lucky and you've been stuck with a bunch of touchy bitches?
Or something along those lines.
Various expreiences..
My first boss was a lovely woman.. a bit of a "mother" figure and very easy going.
Since then I have worked with various ladies, from "fit young things" to the "more mature" with a few psycho's in between.
I think its a very good thing to have women about in the workplace, but you have to cater for the fact that some can take any rational hypothetical discussion about xyz and turn it into a personal insult.
For example, Last week a woman (early 40's) in my office took exception to me describing a young, amply bossomed, light-haired lady I used to know as a "fit blonde with big tits".. I was told "I never want to hear you say that again".. something to do with the fact that this woman also has blonde hair..*??? go figure
Matt
*female logic applied.. apparently I was suggesting that she was stupid !?

There are only a couple of girls where I work.
They're fine at their jobs but they seem to approach problems in a reactive way, and would sooner pass the problem onto somebody else, whereas the blokes tend to be more proactive in stepping up and taking responsibility for things.
They also complain more if things aren't done entirely to their satsifaction, which is not neccesarily a bad thing but it can be unneccesarily time consuming at times.
The thing that shocked me the most is how untidy they are compared to the blokes!
