I see from the BBC that Richard Burns is to have surgery to remove a brain tumour.

He has been having chemo etc for 18 months or so and I just wondered if this was a good sign or not.

Not being morbid or anything, but having competed against him some years ago in identical cars and being stuffed (as was everyone else) most comprehensively, hold im in the highest regard and hope he is on the mend.

fingers crossed : he seems a top bloke and is really a brilliant rally driver - fast and easy on machinery.

I don't know anything about the treatment to comment either.

Too right. Best wishes to him and I hope he gets better soon. Great driver and a nice chap by all accounts.

Probably is a good sign. Means it's probably shrunk enough to be operable.

My mum had a brain tumour removed a few years ago and is back to her usual self now...here's hoping it's the same for him.

Met RB at Autosport a couple of years ago - A really nice chap. I hope it's a good sign that they can operate now and hope he has a full recovery and is back racing soon.

I meet a salesman from a company that makes Brian scanners for the NHS ect once.

Appartently Brain Tumours are quite common but a lot of people have them without them causing them any trouble or are even aware of them until it is to late.

All thoughts with RB. Personally I hope he does a Niki Lauda and comes straight back to more championship wins. A great British sportsman.
