Anyone know of places that do decent granite worktops for kitchens at better prices than the usual high street suspects?

TIA

Good call! That's Kwacker IIRC. Had completely slipped my mind (and I've even met him before... at Le Mans)

We used a local guy, recommended by the stone mason in St Philips. I'll try and remember to bring the details along tonight.

The absolute rock bottom cheapest should be in Bristol as thats where the stuff is cut mostly (according to the bank) I made my own templates and got the whole lot machined to size for 1300 quid for 12'x10' L. You need lots of big mates though cos this stuff is bloody heavy.

I do kitchens in the North Wilts, West Berks area and have used A&C three times. I would use them again without hesitation.

I am looking for a green polished granite slab,

1260 x 1260 x 20(?)

For a floor in a small porch, cant find a supplier anywhere, well, I did, but £300+VAT

Cheers. Do they cut it into kitchen-shaped pieces as well, or do they just supply the raw stone?

The larger the piece (or tiles) the larger the price.

I think that is because you want just one slab that size.

If you were prepared to have tiles 30 x 30 or 40 x 40 for instance you could probably do it for under £50 per square metre.

They will pretty much do what you want.
