Hi PHers

I've recently, moved to London from Australia and was wondering where I can buy stuff like bedding, cutlery, bowls etc on the cheap, isn't there something here called a one pound shop or similar? what are main department type stores, like Kmart, an more importantly where are they? I'm living at West Hampstead at the moment.

Also what are the best internet deals?

thanks in advance

Pound shops are all over the place - any major high street, and as said, IKEA is the place to go for quality household goods on a budget. There are stores in Croydon (south London) and two in north London (Edmonton and Brent Park)
As for the net - depends what you want. www.empiredirect.co.uk have good prices for household electrical stuff (though I've not used them yet)

..unless you're after any crystal ornaments, when you'll need a more specialist shop.
