where Dick Emery is dressed as the blonde young lady and is stopped by a street interviewer.
It is something about boyfriend, butcher, and big birds.
It is killing me that I can't remember it.
That character appeared in every episode of the 'Dick Emery Show.' The punch line (literally) was indeed, "You are awful, but I like you!" That is one of my all time favourite tv characters.

Just bought a Dick Emery video off ebay so should know in a few days.
The sketch goes something like this:
Interviewer: "Excuse me, miss"
Blone Girl: "Yes"
<idle chit-chat>
Blone Girl: "I'm off to meet my boyfriend, he's a butcher"
Interviewer: "I imagine he likes to give his birds a good stuffing"
or something like that.
The look on Dick Emery's face is absolutely priceless. I think at this point he then pushes the interviewser over and uses the final gag of "You are awful, but I do like you"
Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Kitchener Lampwick, a wheezy old soldier
Randy Mandy ("Ooh, you are awful! But I like you.")
Sex-starved Hettie, the aging spinster
Bovver Boy
The Toothy Vicar
Camp Clarence ("Hello, Honky-Tonks")
And don't forget his double act with Roy Kinnear as the father and son carpenters.
"dad, I think I done it again"
useless trivia time.
dick emery did several comercials for the launch of the mk3 cortina, they included one with 'bovva boy' who, after answering a question on acceleration by saying "the old bill have a right problem,i loose em in no-time" promptly nicked the car that the presenter of the commercial had left running......in another commercial whilst dressed as the vicar he went on to explain how the arch-deacon had got most of the chior boys on the back seat.
