Labour - Spending more on education
Discussion
Well this is certainly one we can't claim Tony is lieing about.
I spotted in the jobs section of our local paper last night several local schools advertising for "Exam Envigulators" (don't know if I spelt that correctly maybe I should have paid more attention at school
) 4 months contract with an option for another month in November but they were paying between £7 and £10 per hour......I'm lost for words, I employ skilled and semi skilled trades who work hard all day for similar money, not sitting on their arses at the front of a school hall reading the paper and besides when I went to school the lazy bastard at the front reading the paper was called a teacher and they were there because they obviously didn't have any kids to teach at the time, what is going on ???
Tony do us a favour tell the whole truth, change the tag line to "Labour - w*nkering more of your money on education"

But Mel, all you've uncovered is the fact that people the world over are not necessarily paid 'fairly'. That is why a large majority on here (myself included) get paid large amounts of money for sitting on our backsides surfing PH all day.
The alternative I believe is called 'Communism' and was found not to work in the latter half of last century

then £7- £10 is the going rate. doesn't seem that out of the ordinary given that you need some decent qualifications to have the job - but probably not do the job (95% of the time). neither can they surf the net o nthe job
supply teachers in the same category.

exam invigilators get much more than that usually.
and the folks who mark the exams, who are just cross referencing answers with a provided list get 12 quid per paper. my mate little matt did it for a summer and he was averaging 7-10 papers an hour. nice work if you can get it.
in my humble O, that money would be better spent if it were given to me for a nice new canoe.

What qualifications are needed to sit there and make sure the kids aren't cheating ? These people aren't marking or teaching anything they are polishing their arses and watching children FFS.
