Want to get out of London tomorrow, anyone have any good recommendations for a really nice hotel within 2/3 hours drive of London where theres semi interesting stuff in the locality to see / do?

Really nice area, lots of places to go etc. One and a half hours drive from SW London.

I once stayed at a very nice 4 star hotel in Winchester, which overlooked the cathedral.

Once spent four days at Chewton Glen on a business "retreat". Sumptuous doesn't do it justice. My room was so big I couldn't watch the TV from in bed without binoculars.
