Cop wannabe arrested

High-speed biker was police force applicant

A biker who led traffic patrols on a series of high-speed pursuits in Florida turned out to be a would-be cop. He was just days away from taking his final physical exam when police finally caught up with him.

He was arrested at his home after officers tallied him at speeds of up to 140mph off the Florida Turnpike. He hid the bike in his bedroom along with his Florida Highway Patrol application form.

When police arrived he pretended to be washing his car, but his dog jumped at the window knocking away a blind and investigating officers saw the motorbike inside. "He's playing a game, and there's no winners in that game. And it ended the best way it could've possibly ended," Sgt. Al Reyes told NBC6 TV.

The man has been charged with three counts of aggravated fleeing, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of reckless driving.

FHP spokesman Lt. Julio Pajon added there was no point in him taking his physical exam. "We told him, don't bother showing up. Getting arrested is an automatic disqualifier."

This'll be land of the free where one is innocent until proven guilty, unless you are a 'red' or of arab extraction or any skin colour other than white in one area or black in another, I supose then...

Where do the "aggravated assault" charges come from?

Wouldn't you think if a guy can out drive the -authorities- three times, he would be what they want on the force?

No, it's a rare condition known as Spontaneous Colon Rocket Syndrome......little known at this stage, but early research shows that frequent curry ingestion, and susceptibility to static electrical discharge, makes you 97.6% more likely to contract this disorder than the average Pope......

His timing was wrong, that's all. I understand most copper bikers are equal speed freaks, but wait until they've got the job first.

Please try and overcome your racist stereotypes. Check out the following article:

www.nbc6.net/news/4414554/detail.html

The motorcyclist was named Carpenter, and the cop was named Reyes. How do your theories fit that scenario? More appropriately they should have said getting convicted is an automatic disqualifier, but take into account that they found him by following him with a police spotter in an airplane. Having multiple police eyewitnesses to the crime usually makes for a sure case. The statement of a joking cop does not revoke due process in the American legal system.

His aggravated assault charge comes from nearly hitting two other drivers while going over 100 mph, through traffic, the wrong way.
