How are things there in the 1940's?




They are till impressive though aren't they? My great uncle flew them in WW2 and recieved a DFC with 2 bar for bringing back his crew in a virtually detroyed Lanc.

Same thing happened to me. At least it was probably a lancaster. we were standing outside the house and had a conversation along the lines of:

"look at that big plane"
"Cool"
"Is it a Lancaster?"
"Well, I can't say for sure it is anything else, so we'll assume it's a Lancaster."

It did sound good.

Yup, A BoB Lancaster was flying over West Yorks - Some celebration going on in Wakefield - allegedly the thing did 3 passes over us and I didn't see it once!
