I had an interview on Tuesday of this week up in Winchester - for a full time peripatetic woodwind teaching post in north Hampshire, starting this next academic year after I finish my degree. Got a phonecall this evening (after only 2 days!) from the lady saying that the panel had unanimously decided to offer me the job! I'm more than a little chuffed (in case you hadn't noticed), and need to vent to as many people as possible (I'm quickly running out of friends to tell!)... Might be paying the pub a visit in a bit...

Lol!

I'm currently studying a BMus Jazz degree at Exeter. The first two years I studied down in Cornwall for, until the course moved up to Exeter (who had always run the course technically) for my last year.

Doing a major in composition this year, so I've written Big Band scores, saxophone quartet things, and a host of other stuff which is all going in my portfolio.

It's really good actually - we have lectures off an internationally reknowned jazz pianist, who's literally world class. My saxophone playing is coming on leaps and bounds, and it's generally really cool.

Congratulations. Now that you'll have money coming in, do the world a big favour and scrap that crappy Cavalier and buy a proper car.

Oi!!!

I'm going to need it - I'll be doing a lot of miles, zipping around loads of different schools every day, and need something reliable enough not to let me down and big enough to throw a load of saxophones in the boot.

The plan is to keep that as a tin-top for work and to put a Fisher Fury together over the next couple of years...possibly bike engined, but I'll have to drive one first before I decide
