It seems that the Tories actually polled more votes than Labour in England.
We therefore now have a situation where Wales and Scotland have their own parliaments and we in England are saddled with a government that we didn't vote for but which is foist upon us by Scottish and Welsh votes, whilst we have no say in their affairs.

LA, here's a tale for you:
The MOD decided it needed a facility to overhaul the Navy's nuclear subs. They were going to build it at Rosyth, but 'apparently' decided that was tantamount ot locating your nuclear sub. facility in a foreign country.
Instead, they built it at Devonport in Plymouth, close to a fault line on the earth's crust.
Just down the road, at more or less the same time, they were widening the road deck of the Tamar Bridge (on the Devon/ Cornwall border). An engineer spotted that this bridge is also located near the fault line, and proposed that there may be some increased risk of damage given the extra weight of the bridge.
'Rubbish', said the designers, 'There hasn't been an earthquake here for yonks' (I'm paraphrasing here
).
Less than a week later, there was an earthquake nearby...
Meanwhile, two years late and several million over-budget, the Devonport facility finally took a disintegrating submarine in about 18 months ago.
Hell, it may even be back in the water by now...

Sorry, being dim here, are there any figures about? Can't find any on the BBC / Channel 4 / Google
The Sunday Times had it broken down by region yesterday. The Tories polled slightly more than Labour in England. Labour polled only slightly more than the Tory's in Britain overall but have a majority of 65. Somethings wrong somewhere. Time to re-draw the constituencies.

They are, the boundaries will be redrawn before the next election, based on the 2001 census.
It should be worth at the very least 20-30 seats for the Tories, the final benefit depends on how well each party argues their case to the independent electoral commission.
