Whilst this is a marvellous two-fingered salute to the PC brigade - who I abhor in every respect - I feel that this is a perversion of true hunting.
You hunt to pit your wits against those of the quarry. All the pleasure is in the chase, the planning, attempting to outwit the animal, the satisfaction of a clean end brought about by exercising supreme skill with the chosen weapon.
There is no pleasure in simply killing something...that's just something done out of necessity - like poisoning rats.
I feel that the automated idea cheapens and degrades hunting and opens it up to all the criticisms that the bunny huggers love to heap upon it.
Hunting, and finding pleasure in doing so, should be reserved for those who genuinely respect their quarry as both a species and as opponents.

There's plenty of people in here who say they like nothing more than to go out and kill of fox for fun on a quiet Sunday morning. I would have thought this new service was right up their street.
Oh dear sorry .... of course you were only killing a single fox every weekend as ' pest control ', so this new sick service has nothing in comon with the ' sport' of fox hunting does it . Silly me.

I think the point of this is for the disabled. It wouldn't appeal to me but then again I'm (reasonably) able-bodied.
It does seem to have attracted a lot of unfavorable attention so I wish they would just quietly knock it off. But I'm not holding my breath for that.
On a lighter note, what about my own idea of hunting chavs with horses and hounds? Instead of foxes?
Seems to me that would give the hunt club people something to do, and would improve the gene pool as well. Chavs seem unsympathetic enough, like rats, that surely no one would object?

They guy who came up with the idea was on Richard and Judy a couple of weeks ago. He said that it would appeal to disabled people who are unable to get out of the house and do it for real. He also said that the first person to get a confirmed 'kill' had actually shot a horse.
Found that quite amusing, bet the cowboy riding it was pissed off

I got the "disabled" thing from our NPR radio which was probably similar to what you heard on "Richard and Judy".
For the record I don't like or excuse this "internet hunt". I do hunt and fish but strictly "fair chase", 100% in compliance with all the regs, and don't take more game than I can use, even if the limit is much more.
