Radio 2 Mystery Voice

Yes - this is really sad, but.....

The mystery voice on Radio 2's Afternoon Drivetime Show went unidentified for many many weeks. In the end they started giving out clues, and said that it was someone from the world of sport.
As the voice has recently changed, someone must have got it right. Does anyone know who to whom the long running mystery voice belonged?.

Thanks for that link Jon. The one I was looking for was Shirley Crabtree aka Big Daddy.
