What a strange thread to choose to "out" yourself on!

I actually think he's a seriously cool guy. I love the way he'll just grab anything with a pulse, skin it and roast it over a fire. That's proper cooking

Nothing goes to waste. Nigel Slater's Real Food is very good too, there's a section with 30 recipes involving garlic.

Damn it! 1 1/2 hours til lunch and I'm salivating

The Dean and Deluca Cookbook.

You cant get it on Amazon.

29 different ways to do Mashed Potato

Rubechon Potatos

2kg Idaho Gold Potatoes
1kg Butter
2 pints double cream.

Would sir like a heart attack with his steak?

Its utterly spectacular...

Awesome. Same reason I love watching Keith Floyd. I remember seeing him rustle up some big concoction in a dustbin lid that had a couple of bottles of wine in it and about 1kg of butter and a still-twitching lamb.

Stick your diet up your arse!

Another recommendation for those with a propensity for nothing but side dishes is Leiths Vegetarian Bible.

Works on the basis of what you have in rather than elaborate recipes containing stuff you've never heard of and certaintly dont have in...

Anyway, what was this Ray Mears thing about?

And now that Neil has joined the hijack of his own thread...

Yes, I did see It. Brilliant. I now want to bone a fish with my thumbs, to go cross country skiing/canoeing in Sweden (but I'll remember the whisky), to cook on a well seasoned pine log (how clever was that). And I want my own forge

Saw Floyd in South America cooking Emu in field full of Emus

Top TV chef.

Far better than that obnoxious tit Harriot.

He went to see some Tuna fishermen somewhere who had spent their entire lives fishing for an eating Tuna. He asked the bloke if he like Tuna, to which he said no and Harriot had the audacity to turn around and say 'You're not cooking it right!'

Look Ainsley, if I was going to trust anyone on Tuna it wouldnt be a grinning buffoon from bloody Primrose Hill, alright love?

Free? What's this "free" you speak of? Do you still have to have a dish/box combo?

(This has gone really off topic now!)

And Plotloss, it was about him going walking/rowing/skiing around Sweeden and generally doing cool stuff with fires and trees and getting an awesome knife made for him by some barmy blacksmith out in the sticks. And preparing a fish with his fingers on a rock and cooking it on a stick.

Brilliant, life-affirming TV.

Freeview, you buy the box and it decodes a digital signal through your existing RF aerial.

No monthlys to pay and it gets E4 at the end of the month.

Cool about Mears, will try to catch it next week.

I hate that .

The only TV chef that can make Oliver look credible. Pantomime motherer.
