Why? It doesn't break any of your rules. It was a link to a police web site with a sex offender's picture. That is perfectly legal.

The link may have been to a legal website and it may not have been specifically against the rules of the site.

However it was a link to a picture of some sort of grotesque human/testtube/monster/freak experiment that had gone wrong and could quite well give younger readers nightmares. Offence was caused to a minority of members, complaints were received. As a site moderator I agreed that the link was gross and could cause offence to some members and therefore deleted it.

In future if you have a query with an edit carried out by a moderator please click on the abuse report and voice your concerns. Do not just delete the edit.

I found this thread dusturbing, not because of the image posted, but because I have some experience of what happens to families who are victims of sexual offenders, the comment in your first post was particularly offensive to me.
