Stalking Pete Doherty
Discussion
I'm amazed that the board's gone most of the day without anyone mentioning last night's programme. Am I the only one who saw it?
I knew nothing about Pete Doherty prior to last night, other than he's a singer who likes his heroin and is shagging Kate Moss.
But, in all seriousness, the subject of last night's show could have been anyone. It was more the fact that Max Carlish was clearly mentally ill that had me interested.
Based on what I saw last night, I'm not surprised the band were reluctant to have him around. I wonder how much he got for selling those pics?
The programme ended with the narrator saying that Max Carlish is now looking for another subject to film. Form an orderly queue...

I watched it too. Think he's a bit deranged? (You can choose who I'm referring to
)
I seem to remember speculation Carlish got around 40k from the Sunday Mirror, which would make sense considering the debts he admitted having at the time (in the film). But then, what price integrity? He can't ever be taken seriously as a film maker, or journalist, and I don't see how he can keep on lecturing on those subjects (if he still is).
I've seen Docherty gigging a few times - early doors a couple of time with the Libertines, while he was on bail (9pm in the Garage, surrounded by the real-life cast of Nathan Barley) and then supporting the Streets with Shane McGowan at AllyPally. He really does have something special about him, on stage at least.

Max certainly did STALK him. Never liked dohety before, but Max was 10 times worse - what a nutter.... (and didn't they mention his mother was a highly experience psychologist or something??)
Fair play to dohety & friends, he deserved a smack.
Still don't like dohety though - may have if he wasn't such a smack head.

I do have an enormous amount of respect for Docherty its got to be said, he is a 'genius' in the modern sense of the word.
I thought it was £50K and the punch up ocurred because Carlish suggested he would give Docherty a cut for the final interview he so desperately wanted.
He renegged and Pete lumped him one.
All that sword stuff was nonsense though I have no doubt.

saw this too - carlish - err needs some help - basically wanted a slice of fame - got it, and thats enough of him thanks. got to laugh at docherty though (apart form the kate moss business - git!)... I also laugh at people criticising him for being a useless smackhead - bit like the newspaper asking george best 'so george, where did it all go wrong'*
[* with his pfa award, a suitcase full of cash and miss world in his bed in a 5* hotel - errr wrong?]
They shouldn't encourage the idiots. Who was it who told Doherty he was any good? I most certainly don't believe the hype, he's a mess and not even a very talented mess. The media love it. Kate Moss clearly has no taste.....
Now John Coltrane, there is a smackhead worthy of merit. I thought this Doherty character was dead. Why the fuss?
