Sad to say I'm not at all suprised, after all, the Government has successfully brainwashed most of the populous into thinking that going over 5mph is an offence in the same league as murder, so why should we be suprised if they want to change our British history??
When we have such role models as Beckham, Rooney et al, why do we need people who died defending our country from very real threats like Nelson???

Somehow I can't see America canceling July 4th celebrations in case they upset us Brits. This really is on the same level.
Sadly I am no longer surprised by the antics of some faceless middle class bureaucrat deciding on behalf of all of us what is right and what is not.

Would we avoid celebrating VE Day and the defeat of Hitler and Nazism? Battle Of Britain? Turning point of WWII.
Course not.
So why not Napoleon?
Maybe we have a rose-tinted view of history, but let's face facts, Napoleon was a French supremacist who wanted to turn Europe into his authoritarian dictatorship, and in that way, Trafalgar is as important in the fight against dictatorial regimes as the Battle of Britain.
But of course these woolly liberals think that in the 18th Century, war was all about jingoism and racism and wearing colourful operatic costumes, and therefore commemoration couldn't possibly involve any accuracy in case the people who wilfully overthrew the tyrant to protect Europe might be seen as 'good'.
Well in that case the Germans must be fuming following the VE Day celebrations.
So what happens? Do they wait 'till Grandad'd died then change history to suit their PC-Vision specs?
