We want to get a rowing machine, so I can train for a uni event next year and so my Dad can keep trim. Current line of thought is the Concept 2 Model C refurbished from the manufacturer (£600). The alternative is a WaterRower, which is going to be £900, but I know some people wouldn't row on anything other than one.

Does anyone have any experience of both? I've used Concept 2's extensively but never waterrowers.

All help appreciated

tbh I never used a water rower but I did read somewhere (many moons ago) that one of their drawbacks was something to do with the variability of the resistance, and something about being able to get the water moving around inside the container?? not sure if I remembered it right though!!

Concept are great and if you get a newer model (I think they are about a grand) then you can link it to your pc and even post your results online/take part in competitions
