Im after a bit of advice / help here....

I want a mad cheap DVD player, and does anyone know if you can "decode" the ASDA cheapies to play multi region / dvd / computer burnt discs etc?

I have a mate with a large "collection" of DVDs of a multiregion variety and wonder if anyone knows how to make them multiregion players?

Cheers
jj

For £19.99 you can get one from Amazon. Just buy one for each region

Def recommend Richer Sounds - they're doing a nice Toshiba for 30 notes.

Cryus DVD8... But now I want the AV8 to go with it.... and some SmartPowers... or perhaps some monoblocks.... And then there's the speakers that I killed this week that need replacing. It is getting pricy

I'm trying to be sensible, but you're only here once

Bloody hell they've come down a bit ! I bought my panasonic one from richer sounds about 4 years ago for £500 !!

but saying that its big and weighs a ton so i'd fully expect it to outlast these 20 quid efforts !!

I agree though - spend the £70 on the toshiba and get something a bit better

In a word,

Just got to sort out the dead plasma and then I feel a shopping spree coming on. Was just googling for some cheap SmartPowers, but they are all coming in at around £600 ea.

You see if the TV hadn't blown up, I wouldn't have resurrected the old amp and speakers, which then wouldn't have blown up, which wouldn't have necessitated replacement, which would then be too good for the amp...etc

Ho hum, should have bought an Binatone and been done with it.
