For those that don't know (or care), Birmingham Gay Pride is this week end and kicks off a summer of prides, parades for equality, speeches, festivals and parties until Cardiff pride in the middle of September.

At least every other week end between the two dates, there will be a gay pride at some town or city, somewhere in the UK, plus many abroad.

I'm fully aware that many will agree/disagree with these for various reasons.

I'm just curious as to how many of the other PH Puffs will be going to any of these, and which ones?

I'll be going to Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester and Huddersfield if I can.

:D

Only the bigotted narrow minded nazis.

This is a free country and you are doing nothing illegal.

I had a feeling this was going to be one of your posts

Did anyone see the programme "middle sex" last night? Apparently homophobes are more likely to be secretly gay

They did a test involving wiring the blokes thingy to a sensor again! Those that had identified themselves as homophobic became more aroused when watching gay porn than those that were mainly indefferent.

Some of those ladyboys were a bit worrying though

Will be doing Cardiff and Brighton (touching lots of wood). Always wondered why Cardiff was so bloody late when it's getting a bit nippy to be bopping in a field with no shirt on.

Brighton pride is awesome, recommend it to anyone whatever 'preferences'!

I heard of that theory through one of my sociology courses actually. In fact, it's funny someone should mention Nazis - a lot of their top brass were secretly gay, so it seems (and Jewish, oddly enough).

I do often wonder about blokes who feel the need to constantly reinforce their heterosexuality by loudly pointing out girls, actually. Strike me as rather insecure.

Whatever turns you on, enjoy it!

Went to the Brighton one last year. It was quite an eye opener for a straight fella!

Hang on do you need to be gay to enjoy those parades? Not gay myself but reckon it’d be a great party to go along to if I weren’t elsewhere. Knowing my luck I’d end up trying to chat up a lesbian or something!

Hope you all have a great time and that any ‘anti’ idiots keep away/fall down manholes (sure there’s a joke in there somewhere).

Each to their own, no problem.

I just wonder if there'd be uproar if there was a 'straight pride' march.

"Come join us straight people in a big street party, gays allowed but DONT bugger it up"

On a different note every year in America they have the Black Music awards. Big televised ceremony just like the BAFTAs, Oscars etc. Can you imagine the outcry if they had White Music awards?
I'm not racist or anything, just amused by double standards.

I believe it's actually the 'Music of Black Origin' awards - which makes it slightly different in context, although I know where you're coming from.

My straight mates often say that they have the best times at gay parties/clubs, so go and enjoy yourself!

I totally agree with you there.

I wonder if there will soon be a "National Smoking Day"

Over here we have the MOBOs - Music Of Black Origin awards.

Thing is, it's very unclear as to quite what they mean by it. The result is that all the artists awarded MOBOs are Black, but surely just because the music's 'of Black origin' doesn't stop anyone else playing it.

Also, they only seem to concentrate on rap and R'n'B. What on earth happened to soul and jazz in that case?

Jazz has had a transformation in the UK recently. There are lots of younger people getting to grips with it sharing the best stuff between them. In fact, its become that popular they've renamed it Jizz.

Or perhaps we are comfortable with the fact that men enjoy looking at attractive women.
