Haven't heard it yet. A mate of mine is doing me a bootleg copy which I should get soon-ish. I'll post once I've heard it.

'Lyla' is the only one I've heard and, TBH, it slips into Oasis' back catalogue a little too easily. Listening to it, it could be a B-side from an earlier single, there's nothing to single it out as 'the great return to form of Oasis'. Maybe that's a good thing as it shows they haven't slipped back to 'Be Here Now' territory, but still, not enough fireworks.

Be here now was fantastic.

The only album I don't go back and listen to is WTSMG.

the new album seems ok. i have only had a quick browse of it and havent tried it in different situations. but i dont know if its really all that great straight away. i can feel that it might grow on me, but all my favourite albums are ones which really grabbed me the first time i listened to them.

Huh? What's The Story? is, alongside Definately Maybe, Oasis on top form. No egotism, no laziness.

Be Here Now is a Cocaine-fuelled self-indulgent monstrosity. There's a reason why you still pay £15 for WTSMG and Def. Maybe whilst BHN is £5.99 in the bargain bucket - everyone other than hardcore Oasis fans think it's crap.

They should've released that collection of B-sides instead, The Masterplan, and sneaked Be Here Now out a bit later.

Sorry, but it's a big letdown, as is SOTSOG. Heathen Chemistry was a good return to form, but no Def. Maybe, and by the sound of Lyla, neither's Don't Believe The Truth.

Be here now's not that bad, better than anything they've done since anyway. Too much hype not enought substenance, still i like it. SOTSOG is crap.

the thing about SOTSOG is the are some blinding tracks on it as well as some average songs.

Gas Panic is the 3rd best song they ever made.

(Behind Supersonic and Columbia)

Itunes released it almost a month ago.

They had it as 03/05/05 instead of 30/05/05

The Importance Of Being Idle,
Guess God Thinks I'm Abel,
Part Of The Queue

Strike me as being good so far, the rest of the album doesn't grab me.

Good album, only given it a few listens all the way through, but I had "Love like a Bomb" and "The Importance of being idle" on repeat for half an hour on iTunes today (Hmm that must be my faves then )
