WTF is this Country coming too.
My wife rang me about this job (she's a bobby and is involved in this) Its a very nasty incident, no doubt the press release dosn't cover what they allegedly did to this poor 5 year old.
It just proves which way this Country is going...

Whoever thinks that kids are angels needs their head examing. I remember the "antics" of my age group and to that extent nothing has changed. The difference being that it is reported as a "shocking" event.

WTF

My best mates house backs onto that woodland, and I live about 10mins away (my other half works at the hospital FFS)

No doubt that they come from a broken home, and it is all society's fault for not sending them to Lapland to see Santa!!

This isn't the first instance around here either, as I seem to recall some lunatics putting fishing wire (or similar) across the greenway (local cycleway) and almost beheading people.

Lock them up and throw away the key. At that age you ARE old enough to distinguish right from wrong, and the sooner we stop tiptoeing around this scum and actually do something, the better it will be for the respectable people in our society!!

I listened to "pause for thought" sometime in the wee small hours this morning.
Some vicar type bloke telling this story about a local youth who put a brick through his window.
The upshot was that this bloke appologised to the youth for bequeathing him a world that made him angry enough to commit mindless acts of vandalism. Prick.

And then we wonder why 5 year olds arn't safe from 11 year olds.
Perhaps they were angry about global warming or third world debt, bless em.

Personally I find it difficult to form an opinion with such a vague report.

A lot of sense.....

Children are far less sophisticated in their understanding. It follows that in the majority of extreme cases of child inflicted cruelty, no matter how repulsive, it is difficult to categorize the behaviour as "evil." And again, bizarre behaviour from incomplete humans we assume incapable of such acts isn't isolated. The gradiations of cruelty tend to be cultural. In our own land it is manifested in children torturing insects or small animals, and in other countries, the blank faced child gripping a rifle, trained to kill for a "cause" they may not understand. .............
And we show them a million ways to kill for thrills.

I never had a video game or daytime TV for kids and abhor the damn things, (should be severly regulated/censored), bad for the upbringing and even worse for childrens perception of what is acceptable. On top of total lack of any discipline in the home (thanks to weak kneed liberalistic sociofascists like bLIAR and co), I fear that this sort of horrendous act will happen more and more unless we get back to basic discipline throughout society.... and if that means giving a kid a clip around the ear, or a birching, then for humanities sake DO IT!!!!

Most of the Qualified Social Workers that i deal with would love nothing more than to give the kids a good kicking, or at least a clip round the ear, we need to be looking more towards the Government and not the QSW's that have to enforce governments gone soft...

Pure speculation on my part - the kids all watched Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves at the weekend on BBC1. They'll have watched the hanging scene, where everyone survives. They'll have re-enacted it, using the littlun as the 'victim'. They'll have shit themselves when it all went serious, and panicked.

As a kid, did I ever try and kill myself or another kid? Nope. But there were some incidents that came pretty close. Like the time we were being Evil Kinevil and my mate fell off his bike, put the handelbar through his spleen and nearly died. Or when I fell 20 feet out of a tree cause my mate thought it'd be 'funny' to shoot me with a bb gun while I was swinging like an ape. Or playing with aerosol cans in the park and making flamethrowers. There are loads of stories, none of which have any particular malice associated with them. As an adult I can look back and think "Christ, what was I doing?!". As a kid, there were a couple of 'games' that went wrong, thankfully never to the extent they could have. Maybe this is the same...

Whereabouts do you live? I am over there fairly often to see my mate-he lives at the bottom of the hill in the new houses (past The Park pub and turn right as the road swings to the left)

well yes I have been shot by an .22 air gun, Put aerosol cans / 12 bore cartridges on the fire chucked stones / bricks at my "mates" pushed each other down the hill in a twin tub (dont ask) jumped off garages, chucked each other off a cliff and broke my arm while playing in the garden. Also played chinese burns and badly sliced my finger down to the bone. Lastly played the dreaded Truth or Dare.

But I would NOT attempt to murder them.

I think what he was saying is that perhaps when were were shot at by air rifles (me too!), a different outcome and different reporting may have called it 'attempted murder' too.

Not that I think that in this case, mind.

I guess the point I was (clumsily) trying to make is that none of us here know what happened, but on the face of it what's new? Some kids were doing something, one of them got hurt - that's all we know, and that's always happened. Agree there appear to be some similarities to the Bulger case, but reading the papers today it's all "alleged", "suspected", "believed", "sounds like", yada yada yada.

Taking as an example, what would have happened if you'd thrown a rock at your mate, hit him in the head, and he collapsed and died. Reckon you'd be ticked off for a bit of tomfoolery? Or would you have been charged with something more serious?

Ummm. Well, yes, broke her arm (opps).
Still my mate did try and header a brick (hell you should have seen the blood)
But what I am trying to say is that I/we did not go around with intent on killing someone unlike the bulger case that was premeditated (sp?) murder. www.crimelibrary.com ).

Half a century ago it was common for schoolkids to have knives. Half a century before that probably everyone carried penknives (to carve their pens with). But how many children, never mind teachers, were stabbed, never mind to death?

How many kids were burned alive by other kids?

How many OPS beated to death by kids?

How many people killed themselves because of the harassment they received from kids?

More to the point:

How many people killed themselves because of the harassment they received from the police

Because they were left to defend themselves from the harassment they received from kids!
