My New Pet - Tips Please

Working 60 hours a week having a proper pet would be unfair on it, as such I have bought myself a rather different pet.

Does anyone know how often it needs watering and what else I need to do to keep it well?

If I starve my cacti of water they grow more.

I rarely water my cacti, although if you do so at spring they will flower.

Not sure how often to water them but they'll need walking at least once a day.

We kept a venus flytrap in our lab but it died in under 2 weeks. It went black. I don't think putting it in the fume cupboard was a good idea.

Don't keep them too long or they'll end up like this:

For anyone that has carnivorous plants, the key is to use rainwater. Tap water will kill 'em in a few weeks. Shame they didn't think of that in day of the triffids!

For cacti, keep it well drained, and water it little and relatively often, but err on the side of under-watering rather than over-watering.
