I suppose most of us have all done silly things once or twice in our lives.........

I remember once I had to reinforce a wooden door with quarter inch sheet steel, so had eight 12mm holes to drill in the sheet for the coach bolts, anyhow despite buying some special heavy duty tungsten carbide drill bits especially for the job, after nearly six hours and much swearing and sweat, I had just about got through five holes, when I suddenly realised I had my drill on reverse...:yikes:.....:hehe:

A flick of the switch, and hey presto! like a knife through hot butter........

Any other Pher's got similar tales of misfortune......:scratchchin:

Once (when I was a lot younger!!) decided to set my watch by the TV News!

Unfortunatly I was watching a video and when I didn't quite get my watch in synch with the recording I rewound the video and tried to set my watch to the "correct" time again.

Suddently it dawned on me exactly what I had done! lol

Sent my boss an email (to his works address - no getting work mail at home) to tell him I had locked his notebook in my cabinate.

Then I went on holiday for 2 weeks to the Carribean.

Tried several times to walk up the down escalator at the Trocadero in London, trying to be cool in front of my little sister and her mate.

Attempted to syringe my ears once.
Waited until there was lots of steam coming off the hot running water. Then filled a hyperdermic and proceeded to squirt the entire contents into my ear.
It hurt. A lot.

Stuck my fingers in a bulb holder to see what an electric shock felt like. I know the answer now!

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Aye, done that one... when I was a LOT younger than I am now I hasten to admit...

That was followed by another four or five mains shocks at one time or another...

DIY time, renovating house big time, very tired, new kitchen ceiling, no floor upstairs, dick head husband standing on flor beams only. Big white telephone removed, puts washing up bowl on water pipe and flushes to empty cistern.
Bowl accepts 10 litres, victorian aquifer stores 10 gallons! Integral water feature in kitchen that hubbie then enters via ceiling!! He forgets no floor and steps back, and becomes part of the water feature straddling said beams, still holding the 10 litre bowl while screaming in pain!
this is only one of many amusing moments that need a thread of their own. We now live in a new build!!

I elected to headbut a tree at 35mph. Either that or probably break my shoulder, so, helmet on, I went for it with my head. Never been quite as clever since.

When I bought my Chevette off my sister it had a rusty front wing so I decided to buy a replacement.

I thought I could fit it myself so I parked the car up on the kerb outside my parents house, put the new wing down and proceeded to remove the bolts from the old one.

I then realised that this old wing also had welds on it and it would be beyond me.

So I got in the car and went to park it up...and promptly drove over my brand new wing

You should have seen the look on the guy in the bodyshop when I took my black primer, still with sticker on, bent front wing and asked him to beat it back into the proper shape!!

When a boy racer type started reving his engine behind me at the lights one night, I waited for the glow of the adjacent lights to show, and decided to leave him behind in a cloud of burnt rubber.

It was only after Id engaged the hyper drive that I realised, seeing that he hadnt moved, that I was at a 3 way set of lights - my lights were still red.

Must have thought I was a nutter
