I'm trying to locate a way of backing up all my SMS messages from my P900 onto my PC. Any idea how this can be done?

TIA :D

Yes, but only in a very roundabout way. One of a whole catalogue of reasons that I am getting rid of mine.

(As an aside, what is the point in a so-called "business" phone where you can't do basic things like archiving your messages!?)

You need one of 2 programs :

DesktopMessage
or
Oxygen Phone Manager

The latter will only work via bluetooth/IR, and NOT through the standard USB docking station that everybody has

But it can be done (but not MMS sadly)

PS - a side effect is that even after you delete the old messages you won't free up all the space. Gradually over a few backup/delete cycles you will find yourself down on memory. No way around it without reseting the phone and installing everything from scratch)

Weird. Both my brother and myself have had the problem. 16MB internal memory just isn't enough. Everything that can be is on the memory stick, but I'm forever running out of room.

Whatever, I have an SPV C500 on order Not that you can backup SMS' out of the box with that either What halfwit specs the software on these thing!?

Cheers. Are there trial versions of these programs about, or do I need to fork out for them?

Well I haven't paid for either, and the demos have been working for ages. You might have to uninstall / reinstall if you are feeling cheeky, but they are only a few quid.
