I went there with the wife 19 months ago - great place - Gambrinos is the best beer you can get.
Got a mate who lives out there and we drank all night in his local (four of us) for about £4.
Lot more expensive in Prague itself (he lies 30 miles outside the city). Groups of lads together just get plagued by huge blokes inviting them into bars and the like (apparently) - had a mate go on a stag weekend there last year.
Once in, the bottles are no cheaper than the UK!

Shame that Prague is becoming known for one thing. There is a brilliant, vibrant city waiting to be explored all within walking distance (and if you happen to get laid en route, then great).
The views from Petrin Tower are great. You can see across the Hunger Wall, the football stadium, the Vltava river and up to the Castle district.
For finer foods there are some very authentic Czech restaurents on Nerudova, which runs uphill from Kampa Islandat the foot of Charles' Bridge to the Castle. Kampa Island itself is home to one of Prague's best restaurents, Kampa Park.
There are some very good clubs off Wenceslas Square in the new town, on the adjoining streets which run off it to the left and right.
Fantastic place to visit. Have fun.

Don't fall into the usual trap of just going there to get hammered and making a tit of yourself...we've got a bad enough image as it is 
Get out of the city centre and it's as cheap as chips, even better if you go to some of the cities.
I'm in the fortunate position of having friends living in a couple of small Czech villages and the pubs are dirt cheap...less than 50p per pint

It's a lovely place although I've only ever been when the weather has been very, very cold.
Don't just walk into any city centre bar and expect drinks to be cheap, cos they're often not. We stayed in the Hilton and it was actually cheaper to buy a bottle of Smirnoff Ice there (around £3) than in some of the bars.
Taxi's can also be expensive (although some aren't) but the tube is the way to travel: clean, efficient, quick and cheap, so long as you can work out the maps and stops.
Lots of touristy shops all selling the same touristy crap, but there is some nice stuff available in the shops ('Blue Praha' do nice glassware, if that kind of stuff floats your boat or for pressies).

Still, we ate some good food, caught a few stunning views of the coast and mountains. Twas good to get away but hardly the calibre of being in Prague. Guess we'll try again next year, see if our karma's improved.

I'm not a huge drinker at the best of times and I'll be doing my best to improve the 18 year old image abroad
Me and the lad's (and girl) I'm going with have decided that yes we should have a great time, but that doesn't necessarilly mean sticking to getting wasted. I'm every bit interested in the architecture/history as I am with the Public House's
Plus I'm all up for the Footy Stadiums

If you seriously plan to see the sights, try and go to the likes of Karlovy Vary as well as Prague.
I'm not usually the sight-seeing type but i've really got a soft spot for that country now, so much so that i'm considering flogging the car and looking for a place in Brno where i know a few people.

Forgot to add, if you jump on a train you can visit the town of Terezin which is steeped in WWII history. Jews were kept there in ghettos by the nazis. In the Jewish quarter of the Old Town, Prague, the cemetaries are crammed with coffins. Some lay 5 or 6 deep into the soil. Very poignant and a very sad part of it's history, but well worth seeing fr obvious reasons.
If you're a fan of literature, Kafka spent most of his life here with Max Brod and you can sip coffee in one of their haunts, at highly inflated prices. He lived for a while on Golden Lane out the back of the castle district. The houses are all different colours á la Balamory/Tobermory and are minute in size. Worth seeing though.
If over the top art deco is your thing, tea and cake at the Powder Rooms is essential. It's over - priced but you get doylies (sp?) the works in a very opulent environment. It was a bit fancy for us.
