They're trying to get 10,000 people to each pledge £10 for a legal fund to fight the ID card scheme. To be honest, I think they're going to need more like 100,000 people, but it may be worth a look.

I am afraid that it might not make much difference. Since both Cons and Lab have backed "in principle" the use of id cards, its a bit of a lost cause. Shame really.

I always thought that the opposition was that... but obviously not and they just go with the flow....!

They have some pretty high profile support - I see David Bowie is on there...

A legal challenge will go the way of the fox hunting chappys i'm afraid. If tony's mob want it then they'll get it. The best type of challenge is peaceful refusal to adopt the system. The labour party have forgotten that they rule with the consent of the people, we need to withdraw that consent on issues like this.

Dear MilnerR,

Our records show that you have not provided a DNA sample, iris scan and fingerprint for the newly introduced ID card system. Please provide said samples within 14 days or proceedings will be started against you under the civil liberties abolition act of 2010.

Yours menacingly, a faceless government bureaucracy
