As it was.......... a complete cop-out, banal deux-ex-machina resolution.

I think it was a bit poor aswell but i think when writing and filming they assumed eclestone was staying on. But it was a missed oppertunity its only every once in a while the doctor changes so they could have made it a bit more special. The finial few mins really did seem like they stuck it on as an afterthought.

Absolutely loved it. Its a shame Christpher Eccleston wasn't staying on but, given that he didn't, it was a brilliant new series - and even ended with the traditional Doctor "Regeneration".

Grand fun.

They were as far as I am aware - they must have added them on as Ecclestone only said he was leaving after production had finished and the first 1 or 2 shows had aired. Given that context I think they managed to squeeze a new ending in fairly well...

Pity I missed the first part of last night's episode though due to being in Spain - was it any good?

What with exactly? Earth didn't have any defences, it had to be a Doctor/Rose/Tardis based solution.

Don't often read the rags but someone left the Spurt or something in the loo so I read a review by Dominik Diamond, he had it pretty right imo It's not pandering to the masses by being dumbed down, the plots are good and it feels 'grown up'

Oh come off it.

1) Time war still going on a time warp / parallel universe. The Doctor breaks open the warp and the Dalek fleet is plunged into the middle of a pitched battle. One ship is seen escaping at the end...

2) The "Big bad wolf" turns out to be the Master. He is manipulating the Daleks to become his warriors. The surviving Time Lords (Romana, Susan, etc) turn up to help. The Daleks battle it out but one ship escapes...

3) Make one up yourself!!!!!
