It's a Boeing 707 being barrel-rolled... www.707sim.com/texjohnston.html
It's actually the Boeing 367-80, which served as the prototype for the Boeing 707 and KC-135 tanker. It's quite a bit different to a "real" 707 having a smaller diameter fuselage amongst other things.
The picture was taken during a display over Puget Sound in 1958ish and the 'plane was being flown by Chief Test Pilot Tex Johnston. The President of Boeing, Bill Allen, was in the crowd and was not impressed with Johnstons "stunt". He called him into his office and gave him a real dressing down - and then thanked him for adding a few dozen extra orders to the order list
This plane survives and is now in the new National Air and Space Museum hangar at Dulles International Airport - one of the places on my "must visit" lists.
