Cool new albums

I have to say, there have been some pretty damn good albums released just recently:

Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth
Coldplay - X&Y
Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams

Add those albums to a Chim on a hot day with the roof down, ahhhh.....all I need is the blonde in the passenger seat (working on that).

OMG! another 65days...fan! Weird! I didnt know they were well known at all! Its a brilliant album! Have you got the new M83 one? [Before the Dawn heals? or Dead cities? i dont know which!] I reckon the best recent albums have been Funeral by The arcade fire, which came out last year but nvm, Elevator by Hot Hot heat and A certain trigger by Maximo Park. Any others? i can't stand the oasis one!

Isn't Nathaniel in HBMS?

I have their first album and it's excellent. 'Sunshine' is a great chilling tune

If you like your rock with a touch of country then Ryan Adams has quite a few good songs on his latest release, Cold Roses.

The new Foo Fighters one, In Your Honour, is well worth a tenner too.

I know this is so NOT cool but I cannot stop listening to Gwen Stefani at the moment! help I need some serious treatment.

Not quite soo cool, but Soulwax have a new one out now and Royksopp are due in the next month or so.... which is quite nice.... and for the slightly more obscure commercial rockers, A have a single out and a new album due in July....

So looking to have quite a big spend on CD's soon. Oh well.

Like the new Jamiroqui stuff so will have to get the cd when it comes out and the Royskopp one as I liked their last album. have sort of gone off Oasis and Coldplay so will probably give those a miss.

I think Gwen Stefani's album is excellent. Listening to Jamiroquai's new album just now. First impressions are good.

Not listened to all of the new coldplay album but i'm not blown away with what I've heard so far.

Can't make my mind up about Jamiroquai. Musically it's good stuff, but it's not quite anthemic enough to be disco, and nowhere near raw enough to be funk... So what is it exactly? Pop for people old enough to enjoy driving convertible sports cars - A kind of middle ground for the masses?

Hmmmmm... Calling it that doesn't seem to do it justice though. It's a toughy.

and it's very good. Black Devil Car (wonder what that's about......) is a superb track. probably his best all round album but no song on it quite matches the heights of Main Vein (live) from Funk Odessey. overall 9.5 out of 10

Agree on the Jamiroqui stuff.... actually very good. Different from before, but not a huge gap. I liked it when I listened on Napster last night. Might be worth a purchase...

Can't get these albums out of my car. I really can't recommend them enough. Just wish I still had the chim adding some subtle bass...

I've got the new Jamiroquai one. It's good for in the car, or listening to at home.

I LOVE the new Foo Fighters album, and while I'm on the subject of my favourites from this year, I have to mention The Stereophonics, Language:Sex:Violence:Other for a right rocking sound.

I'd have to recommend Jamie Blunt as well. Not sure what the name of the album is but it's very good. Also for those that have purchased In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson, i'd suggest trying his last album Brushfire Fairytales.

Haven't got round to buying Foo Fighters or Jamiroquai yet, but they're on the list.

Anyone fancying some housey stuff with an African flavour should try Africanism by Bob Sinclair.
