I saw Ian Brown when he was supporting the manics. He got booed off the stage, very deservedly. He was absolute balls on a plate. The only shame is that one manics fan got so loud with his abuse of the guy that he was taken out by security and missed their performance.

I was always very chuffed to be the first person in my school to get the Stone Roses album (yes...it was vinyl). I was the coolest guy in the 6th form for about ...ooh....5 seconds or so. So I'm an original 'Roses fan, but watching Ian Brown on the Glastonbury coverage I was just sat there thinking "God..this song is about 17 years old and it's being sung by someone doing a bad Bez impression"

It sounded like he was suffering from a crap engineer last night who eq'd all the life out his voice.

Was all lower mid - very muffled sounding.

His recent stuff is light-years away from the Stone Roses - never really got into them.

Highlight for me was seeing Brian Wilson there yesterday.

Amazing - he sang all the old hits from the sixties and all the young kids were singing along - knew every word!

I went straight out and shoved the Beach Boys platinum collection in the cd player and had a blast in the Tiv. I dare anyone not to smile driving along in the sunshine with California Girls, Surfin USA or Fun Fun Fun blasting out.
