Noooooooooo - TV Death

My TV is switching itself off and sometimes not coming on at all, or just playing sound for a few second, or working fine.

Obviously its knacked and I'll need to get someone to look at it. But any ideas as to what might be wrong and potential costs?

Its a 36" Toshiba CRT

Excellent, well that's a step in the right direction. Anyone else think its broken, or might it be something more sinister, like poltergeists?

Mine did that, it was the on/off switch. Throw it down the stairs and claim nervy knocked it over

Dry joints, my Sony Vega was doing exactly the same earlier this year. I got a local TV repairer to come out and fix it, cost ~£40. No problems since.

Sounds like it may not be too horrifically expensive then. Only started in this really hot weather

Ah yes, a brand which I associate with such things as using a heatsink as a jumper to connect two otherwise-isolated grounds, which is just asking for this kind of fault.
