Anyone know a good place for Travertine?

I just missed out on getting some very economical travertine wall tiles from B&Q (about £23/sq.m). I'm looking for the honed and filled type, light beige, 600x300mm or thereabouts, and approx 8m2.
If any PHer sells the stuff or knows of a good place, I'd be delighted to know. Thanks all :)

It's so much nicer than even expensive ceramic

And £400 on tiles is bearable, but putting any more money in is just pointless

Difficult to fix, soft, not hard wearing. All things that I hate for the commercial building industry, but I guess it doesn't matter when it comes to your own bathroom.

Filled travertine is better. A lot of people are disappointed with Travertine once it's laid, because variation can be huge. (although I personally quite like variation - it's more natural).

You are right though - if you are wanting one better than ceramic/porcelain then travertine is the way to go without tremendous expense.

Crema Marfil is lovely and very popular at the moment, but it is much more expensive.

Slate is a reasonably cheap option, and offers something a little different.

I love stone. Can you tell?

That's what I wanted, but the artistic director said it was too dark

Some Chinese slate isn't - some of it is very colourful. The variegated slate is lovely - but I can't find a picture. Very rustic looking.

I think ive got the honed ones but be aware these tiles have to be grouted and then sealed after fitting to prevent staining/water absorbtion but dont let that put you off, everybody that sees them says they're beautiful.

All stone should be sealed prior to grouting, and then sealed with at least two coats after.

It's amazing how much stone can stain.

There's a range here. Just make sure you actually buy them somewhere else
