Commuting time / distances

Alrighty 
Pretty much as per the title - what's the time / distance for your daily commute?
Does it work out as being cost efficient for you?
I ask because it's looking like I'm going from a commute of 12 Miles & 10-15 mins to something considerably more, as I'm starting to look at jobs in different areas.
Just curious really.......

Disregarding those working from home, I thought most of you lot would have had a hard time beating my 12 miles & ten mins....
Obviously not then!
Do I get a prize?
In fairness I used to do an hour and a half commute every morning and evening costing me a fortune in petrol (public transport not an option). Now I do a smaller commute I feel as if I have some of my life back. It's nicer because I get home earlier in the summer and get to enjoy the long evenings.

If you end up with plenty of options put a high price on a short journey!
Same here, 1.5 hours each way, St Neots to Kings X then tube to Moorgate.
Been doing it for 6 years now and as Blindy says it is Soul Destroying especially as its my only way to get to work. Hence, any train problems and I'm screwed. Costs a lot too, £3500 per year just to sit on a stinking train.

Me too, I have 1 1/2 hours each way, all be it in a car . The problem for me is that everyone seems to forget that you live so far away, so when you leave at say 17.30, they turn around to you and say things like "early finish tonight, you going anywhere nice?", of course the truth of the reality is that you will still be sat in your car while they are already at home.
Never mind eh!

Monday - 30 miles in 50 minutes and return.
Tuesday - Home to Rotterdam in 5 hours.
Wednesday - Hotel to work 1km in 10 minutes and return.
Thursday - Hotel to work 1km in 10 minutes. Rotterdam to home in 5 hours.
Friday - 30 miles in 50 minutes and return.
Total = 13.8 hours (unpaid) travel time per week.
WTF am I doing this for ?
